On June 7, the Earth lost a warrior and the heavens rejoiced. Sally E. Mohr was called home by her Lord and savior to join her parents, Robert Nudo and Josephine Barbirotto, brother, Bobby Nudo, and grandson, Gavin James.
Sally was the strongest person that we’ve ever known. For too many years she suffered in silence, smiled through the pain and battled illness. Something you would never know, because none of that stopped her from being the brightest light in the room.
She had a heart of gold, and you could always count on her for anything — food, shelter, comfort, advice, and above all, honesty. She was unwavering, and made no apologies; she stood by her beliefs and choices in life. Over the years we have learned to lean on her wisdom and strength; she has been our rock and our constant.
Sally has touched more than the lives in our family, her love and commitment has reached out to the community through many church outreaches. One that stands out more than others is feeding those in need. For seven years, Sally and her husband planned, prepared and served meals every Wednesday night. There are so many ways she made a difference, too many to count …
Sally is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Paul A. Mohr; brother, Tom Nudo, and his wife, Teresa Nudo; sister, Sharon Ashley, and her husband, Lee Ashley; sister-in-law, Debbie Nudo; the niece and nephew whom she was like a mother to, Shannah Wright her husband, Alan Wright, and Sean James and his wife, Jennifer James; grandchildren, Chelsi, Brittany, AJ, Tyler, Bryan, Ashten, Josiah, Jeremiah and Oliviah; great-grandchildren, Temprynce and Marie; nieces, Julie Smith, Kari Reynolds and Crystal Garcia; nephew, Matt Haskill; and countless cousins.
Please honor Sally by loving one another and putting family first.
If Sally has touched your life, her family invites you to join them on Monday, June 18, at 3 p.m., at Caldwell’s Mortuary in Astoria, to pay your final respects. Thank you, and God bless.
